How much does it cost?
I aim for my pricing to be competitive and transparent with no hidden charges. You can see my price list here.
How long do I have to wait and how does it work?
If you bring your racket to the Cocks and Hens tennis club in Granchester, I can often string your racket while you wait. Alternatively, we can arrange collection of your racket at a convenient place (such as Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre or Frank Lee Sports Centre, Addenbrooke’s Hospital) and agree a drop-off time and place.
How often should I change my strings?
The general rule for recreational players is based on how many times a week a person plays, e.g. twice a year for a person who plays twice a week.
Do I have to restring my entire racket if one string breaks?
Yes – the racket will lose its balance and performance unless the whole racket is restrung.
What Strings do you use?
I have a wide range of strings to suit most players from beginner to advanced and depending on preferred style of play. I stock a wide range of brands, colours, profile and gauge. These include synthetic, hybrid, polyester, multi-filament and more. I can also mix-and-match strings for bespoke performance.
If you discuss this with me I can give you advice on the best type of string to use.
What accessories do you provide?
I provide a wide range of dampeners for tennis rackets and grips for different rackets.
I stock tennis balls including eco-friendly balls.
The grips range from basic to premium which provide a better feel and tackier surface for a better hold. I also provide overgrips to create a wider grip and increased durability.
How can I avoid Tennis Elbow?
Tennis Elbow is a painful condition that’s best avoided. I’ve provided a few tips to avoid tennis elbow in this article. I also recommend talking to Matt Lingley via his website who is able to assist with exercises for Tennis Elbow.
What happens if a string breaks just after a restring?
In the event of an early restring, in most circumstances I’ll be happy to restring at no additional cost.
